Shanghai Wave Cyber and Tianjin Zhihui Forge Strategic Partnership
In June 2025, Wave Cyber(Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (Stock Code: 688718, hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Wave Cyber” or the “Company”) officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Tianjin Zhihui Membrane Technology Research Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Tianjin Zhihui”) and Shanghai Zhihui Management Partnership (Limited Partnership) (hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Zhihui”). The three parties will jointly establish Shanghai Wave Cyber Zhihui Membrane Technology Development Co., Ltd.
The joint venture will fully leverage the respective advantages of each party in production equipment, technological R&D, and market channels to focus on the research, development, production, and sales of gas separation membranes. It aims to provide high-quality, high-performance gas separation membrane products and solutions to the market, striving to become one of the most influential enterprises in China's gas separation membrane field.
As a representative of new separation technologies, gas membrane separation technology relies on the selective permeation principle of membrane materials and demonstrates significant advantages in areas such as oxygen enrichment, nitrogen recovery, carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), and industrial gas treatment. Compared to traditional separation processes, this technology features high energy efficiency, long service life, and other characteristics, and has become a key technological support for global energy structure transformation and the implementation of the "dual-carbon" strategy. Driven by factors such as energy and chemical demand, global environmental policies, industrial upgrading needs, and the expansion of application areas, the gas separation membrane market is in a period of rapid development, with the global market scale continuing to grow. The Chinese market holds immense potential under the dual drivers of policy and industry.
For over 20 years, Shanghai Wave Cyber has been deeply engaged in the field of high-performance spiral-wound separation membranes, focusing on the research, development, and application of separation membranes. It possesses independent core intellectual property rights and key technologies, has established a full-chain innovation system from basic formula R&D to industrial production, and operates internationally advanced automated coating and laminating production lines. The company has completed the R&D and industrialization of multiple types of membrane products, which hold internationally leading positions in niche segments.
Tianjin Zhihui leverages the top-tier scientific research platform of the School of Chemical Engineering at Tianjin University, with related technologies originating from Professor Wang Zhi, an authoritative expert in China's membrane material field. As Deputy Director of the National Key Laboratory of Chemical Engineering and Low-Carbon Technology and Director of the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Membrane Science and Seawater Desalination Technology, Professor Wang Zhi has long focused on membrane science and technology research in areas such as CO2 emission reduction and energy gas decarbonization and purification. He has made significant breakthroughs in membrane material design and synthesis, large-scale membrane fabrication, and membrane application technologies. He has led over 40 scientific research projects, holds 53 core patents, and has published more than 300 related research papers in top-tier journals such as Nature Materials, with technical indicators reaching internationally leading levels.
This strategic cooperation will achieve a synergistic effect of “1+1>2”: on one hand, it integrates Shanghai Wave Cyber's mature industrialization capabilities and a sales network covering over 60 countries worldwide; on the other hand, it incorporates Tianjin Zhihui's cutting-edge scientific research achievements in the development of new membrane materials. Focusing on the application field of gas separation membranes, the two parties will gradually build a product matrix including carbon capture-specific membranes, medical-grade oxygen-enrichment membranes, and industrial gas purification membranes, primarily serving sectors such as energy, chemicals, healthcare, and environmental protection. This will help customers enhance production efficiency, reduce operational costs, and promote further intelligence and green transformation in downstream industries.
